The Oakes Ambulance Service and the Oakes Volunteer Fire and Rescue groups are a valuable asset for the health, welfare and safety in the Oakes community.

OAKES VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE SERVICE

The Oakes Volunteer Ambulance Service strives to provide the best possible care to our sick and injured patients in the most competant and caring manner.

The Oakes Volunteer Ambulance Service values the importance of continuing training and education to not only our staff but also to that of our surrounding communities. Please click on the tab to the right for additional information about our services in Oakes and the surrounding areas.

OAKES FIRE AND RESCUE

The Oakes Fire and Rescue Unit currently has 25 active volunteers in the area. Anyone who is interested in participating in the local unit may contact the local fire chief.

• The first Tuesday of the month
• 6:30 pm at the Oakes Fire Hall

The Oakes Ambulance Service

The Oakes Ambulance Service is dedicated to the volunteers and staff members who strive to provide the best possible care to the sick and injured patients in the area and surrounding communities.

The Oakes Ambulance is staffed with the following levels of trained volunteers and staff members:

• 2 CPR-Driver
• 7 First Responders
• 13 EMT-Basics
• 5 EMT-Intermediates
• 3 EMT-Paramedics

The Oakes Ambulance Staff is 90% volunteer and is occassionally assisted by the Oakes Fire & Rescue Unit.

The First Responders and EMT-B's provide care that is outlined in the DOT curriculum.

The EMT-I's can provide the same care, in addition to IV's access, advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring and administration of dextrose.

The EMT-P's can also provide that similar care to that of the EMT-1's, along with administration of medications, cardioversion, chest decompression and advanced airway.
