HOCKENBERRY PARK
This park offers modern playground equipment along with traditional swings, merry go rounds, and slides. The park also has picnic shelters, picnic tables, restroom facilities and ample parking ideally suited for a myriad of social gatherings.
Hockenberry Park is located on the north edge of town adjacent to Highway 1.
OAKES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PLAYGROUND
The Oakes Public School Playground offers the newest playground equipment and is located in the heart of Oakes. The playground opened July 2000 as a result of the volunteer efforts of the O.A.K.E.S group, City Council, North Dakota Community Foundaton, other community organizations and private entities.
CUMMINGS FIELD
Cummings Field is the American Legion Baseball diamond featuring a new grass infield and a well maintained baseball diamond. Oakes hosts the annual Legion Babe Ruth Bob Dudley Baseball Tournament and was the recent 2002 host of the Midwest Plains Regional 16-18 Year Old Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament.
WILLOW PARK
Willow Park is located adjacent to Cummings Field and offers easy access playground equipment on the east side of Oakes.
WESTSIDE COMPLEX
Location of ESPN's "SportsCenter Across America...50 Days/50 States" Tour 2005
The newly rennovated softball field on the western edge of town hosts 3 softball fields, agri-lime infields, a concession stand, restroom facilities and a playground area. Annual softball tournaments are often hosted at this park during the summer softball season.
The Cal Ripken MIdwest Regional 11 year old Tournament was held mid-July 2005 hosting teams from Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and an Oakes Host Team.
QUAM COURT
Quam Court is an extension of the Oakes Public Schools playground area. It offers outdoor skateboarding and a basketball court.
The court is located adjacent to the Oakes Elementary Playground and Highway 1.
OAKES SWIMMING POOL
The Oakes Swimming Pool offers endless hours of summer fun with swimming lessons, afternoon and evening hours, lap swimming, water slide, diving boards, water buckets and more! The new pool opened July 2004.
