The Southeast Region Career/Tech. Center is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to be a part of connecting our students to local workforce. This position is based in Oakes, ND, but will serve students in Oakes, Ellendale, Lisbon, Sargent Central, North Sargent, Edgeley and Kulm school districts. The SRCTC Work-Based Learning position is designed to cultivate relationships with local and regional business to support and instruct work-based learning for SRCTC students. The Career Liaison works under the guidance the SRCTC Director, and Assistant Director to understand the continuum of work-based learning opportunities for our students and to educate, coordinate, and promote these opportunities within the business community. This position is a grant funded position and would be a non-certified position. This professional position will require a bachelors degree and a CTE Work-Based Learning Coordinator credential issued by ND CTE. A valid driver's license, as travel will be required to our rural schools and businesses. A salary of $25,000 for 1040 hours or 20 hours per week with some retirement and health benefits.
The Work-Based Learning Coordinator job duties may include the following:
Presentations on partnership opportunities to local and regional business.
Support for local businesses, industry, and non-profits to host and effectively match SRCTC students with internships and cooperative work experiences.
Development of process and agreements to facilitate cooperative work experience, internships, and job shadows
Assist in development of resources for and about work-based learning and ensure availability via SRCTC and school district websites.
Increase awareness on the need for this work by promoting current partnerships on social media.
Assist in developing a virtual exchange that matches student interests with community workforce needs.
Assist in developing awareness and information campaigns for students, and parents on these opportunities.
Attend economic, entrepreneurship, and business community events as representative of SRCTC
Communicate regularly with SRCTC consortium district administration and counselors to assess needs for current and upcoming students.
Develop, Plan and Implement Career Exploration Activities that are cumulatively credit bearing
Develop, Plan and Implement Career Exploration Activities for Grades 7 and 8
Develop Plan and Implement Career Management Course (20060)
Develop Plan and Implement Career Seminar Course (20076)
Coordinate, monitor, and host Seminars for Internships, and Cooperative Work Experiences.
