Fires

Burning is allowed only if there is an enclosed approved UL certified outdoor fireplace or an approved outdoor fireplace by the Fire Chief. Fires must by attended at all times by a responsible adult until completely extinguished. 


Grass & Yard Waste

In city limits properties - do not blow grass, weeds, and other yard waste into the street. It can block gutters, creating drainage and flooding issues. 


Cemetary Memorial Day Flowers

Decorations on stakes must be removed from graves by June 5th, if your wish to retain them. Floral arrangements in vases or pots may be left for the summer season.


Fireworks

Allowable hours of discharging fireworks are; 8:00am to 10:30pm June 27th through July 2nd; 8:00am to 12:00am on July 3rd and July 4th; 8:00am to 10:30pm July 5th and 10:00 pm to 1:00 am; December 31st through January 1st. Those violating the ordinance are subject to a fine of $25.00 each occurrence. Please clean-up any trash or debris left after shooting off fireworks.


Fire Hydrants

The Fire Department asks that property owners with a hydrant near their home or business keep it clear as possible from snow and ice. During fires, clearing snow to unblock hydrants wastes valuable time. If you need assistance to remove snow, please contact the Fire Department or City Hall.


Snowmobile Operation Within City Limits

Must be operated on alleys, stop before crossing streets and avenues, must travel in the same direction as normal traffic, use most direct route out of city limits, you can not tow any type of sled or other vehicle, be registered and have liability insurance, obey all traffic and safety laws.


Snow removal

Snow and ice must be removed from sidewalks in a timely matter. Please do not shovel or blow the snow into the streets.

Vehicles must be removed from the streets and alleys after a accumulative snowfall. No parking is allowed on the Emergency Snow Routes from 2:00am to 6:00am (these routes are marked by signs). Vehicles not moved within 48 hours after snow removal begins can be towed at owner's expense.
