Located in the heart of the Oakes Public school, the Oakes Public library is truly a gem in our small ND community. Individuals from anywhere are encouraged to stop by and check us out. Library accounts are available free of charge. Children's events are held on a regular basis, as we strive to foster a love of books and learning from a young age.
Please visit our Facebook page for the latest happenings and special hours and events!
Each year, the library is stocked with over 1,000 new books. This keeps the book collection fresh and up-to-date for readers of all ages. Large print books are included in our collection. Local and regional newspapers and various magazines are also available for public access. Our connection with the North Dakota State Library gives us the opportunity to borrow items from libraries across the state as well as the potential to borrow from out of state libraries.
The Oakes Public Library contains a modern computer lab with 18 desktop stations. It also offers free public Wi-Fi. A printer is also available; copies available for a small fee.
