Oakes Active Arts Club

We are an organization that promotes cultural interests in the community and to have our members participate in art-related activities. We are constant supporters of Fine Arts in our community

Membership is limited to 20 women, with new members nominated from current members

Events: Missoula Children's Theater, Art Shows, Art Class for Adults & Children, rummage sale to fundraise, music concerts

Meetings: 4th Tuesday of each month during the school year; located at Growing Small Towns building, member homes, travel for special events

Bear Creek Roughriders

We are a group of horse enthusiasts that love to ride, educate, and collaborate with others about everything horse related. We offer a free night called I Wish I Had a Horse where anyone is welcome to come for a free meal, learn about horses and also get to ride a horse. BCR also puts on an annual rodeo second weekend of June during Irrigation Days. As members we get together at the arena for fun days to learn new skills or brush up on techniques to make us better riders. You do not need to own a horse to be a part of BCR we have current members who do not own a horse and who just want to be a part of what BCR does.

Events: Irrigation Days Rodeo, Summer Barrel Racing Series, I Wish I Had Horse, Fun Day Show, Summer Member Nights, Trail Rides local and out of state

Membership: $25.00 for individual or family

Meetings: 7 PM. Located at the Angry Beaver Lodge

Organization working to preserve history for Dickey County and Surrounding areas. Genealogy and research. Digitizing local newspapers. Available to be read online at the museum. Stop in and see what we have to offer.

Events: Walking Taco fundraiser ever Wednesday in August

Membership: $10 yearly or $100 lifetime

Membership Requirements: Yearly dues and try to attend the meetings

Friends of Fine Arts & Academics

Friends of Fine Arts & Academics believe in a balance between academics, arts, and athletics. We strive to bring recognition and encouragement to the Fine Arts and the strong programs at Oakes Public Schools. Your donation helps to enhance the programs offered at the OPS.

Events: Summer Accelerated Reader & Math Program, Pep Band Player of the Game, Academic awards at all school assembly, Organize dinner for Math Olmpics team, Assist Art & Drama Departments, Assist Oakes participants in State Music, Speech, Spelling Bee, State Geography Bee.

Hole-in-One Foundation

Hole-in-One Foundation was established in 2017/ They have expanded over the last 2 years to include charitable gaming currently at 2 locations. They hold an annual golf event at Oakes Golf Course in August. The purpose of the foundation is a to provide monetary donations to those who have experienced a life changing event in our Oakes and surrounding communities.

Oakes Area Community Foundation (OACF)

The Oakes Area Community Foundation (OACF), a permanent endowment fund that provides grant dollars for charitable projects and programs in the Oakes, ND area. Earnings from the fund are given as grants to support nonprofit projects and programs to improve our community and quality of life.

Events: Annual Golf Tournament & Annual "Giving Tuesday" (fundraising event to raise funds for Endowment Fund)

Meetings: Typically noon - 4-6 times per year to plan fundraising events and award grants; Located at Starion Bank - Board Room

Oakes Public Library

Bookworm Discovery Class is a science-themed Storytime held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 6:30 pm, at the Oakes Public Library. It is free of charge and is geared for children ages 7 and younger, although older siblings are welcome to attend. The event typically lasted 30-60 minutes and includes a hands-on activity.
